Senior Photo Reflection

I have been slipping up on my photography posts so I am back to post photos from my good friend's sister's senior portrait session in October! Yes...last year. Let's hope this year brings about more consistency from me!

April & Adam

So driving up to April and Adam's wedding in Erie in a tsunami wasn't the best start to the day...the universe acted generously, though, as the clouds parted right as the couple said, "I do." We were able to get some beautiful images, even some right on the beach at Presque Isle.

It's always rewarding to photograph events for family and this was no different- this couple has been together for as long as I can remember and I was honored to share the day with them. Here are a few photographs from their special day!

Natika & Nick

This past weekend, I was thrilled to photograph my friend Natika and her very-soon-to-be husband, Nick, after many cancellations due to the weather. Although Hurricane Isaac was supposed to ruin our session once again, the sun came out and I was able to click away. I got some of the best portrait shots I've ever captured, though with these two, it was bound to be perfect. They are so incredibly natural and in love, it was impossible to get a bad photo. The couple gets married this weekend in an intimate ceremony and although another gig has caused me to not be able to document their union, I wish them all the best :)

Here are a few shots and, of course, a multimedia video featuring their favorite song, "Dance Me to the End of Love."

First Engagement Session Video!

So I've been making multimedia videos for quite a while now for local bands to use as promotion. I knew I wanted to try my hand at doing these for engagement sessions and I finally got my chance this past weekend with my stepsister and her fiance.

I ventured back home to the country for this shoot and I'm loving how the piece turned out. An adorable couple who picked the perfect song for their future together. Check it!

Bells Ringing, Clocks Ticking?

Should I be worried that my high school classmates are beginning to get married, or should I be happy? Happy, yes, because these two seemed so genuinely, effortlessly ready to tie the knot, how could I not?

I went to school with Jackie and when I got her e-mail asking me to take her wedding photos, I couldn't say no, and I'm glad I didn't. Yes, it's a reminder that we're getting older but it's amazing to be part of a happy couple's special day.

Cheesiness aside, we got some great shots after a downpour that chased us all back inside the church and here are just a few of them.

Jazz Live!

This past weekend was one of epic proportions...Pittsburgh hosted its annual Jazz Live International, a celebration of music consisting of local and national acts. Saturday, I enjoyed 9 straight hours of this beautiful event from witnessing Sean Jones on the trumpter, young cats Center of Life, Chelsea Baratz on her saxophone and late-night jam sessions hosted by Mr. Jones as well as the incredible, legendary Roger Humphries.

Being surrounded by the jazz community we have here made me realize why I am embarking on making a short film about the scene. Everyone is in it together, creating a collective and harmonious vibe that is almost unheard of in every other city in America, or even the world. I can't wait to begin documenting this phenomenon.

Watch this short video from this past weekend to see some of the people you will meet in the short film!
